Suggestions for Attire

New England weather can be unpredictable this time of year, so be sure to check the weather forecast. Many of the activities will be outside under tents, some with heating, some without, so please dress for functional warmth and not fashion…and layers are always a wise choice.

Area Accommodations

Fall in the Upper Valley is a busy time for visitors, so we encourage you to make a hotel reservation as soon as possible. There are no hotel blocks on hold for families for this special weekend. You may want to look for availability within an hour or so of Hanover in both New Hampshire and Vermont. Don’t forget to also check out airbnb, Vrbo, Quechee Lakes rentals, Eastman Lake rentals, and Hanover Hostel.

Area Dining and the Upper Valley Business Alliance

We planned the weekend with Friday and Saturday night dinners as free time so that you can enjoy time with your student and other families. We suggest you make dinner reservations for both evenings as soon as possible.

The Upper Valley Business Alliance is a great resource to start with to help with your dinner reservations in the Upper Valley.

Also, the Class of 1953 Commons (aka FOCO) is open for dinner Friday and Saturday night from 4:00 p.m.–8:30 p.m. for families. Students on a meal plan can use their guest pass, or parents can swipe in for $16.95 per person.

Friday Night Football Game Discounted Tickets

Discounted tickets to Friday night’s 6 p.m. football game vs. Columbia are available for attendees of this special weekend. You can purchase any seat in the stadium at the discounted price of $10. We do have the entire section 12 and the top rows of sections 4 and 5 on the home side of the stadium (West Stands) blocked off, so if you would like to sit with other families those are good seats to purchase.

Visit the purchase page with the GreenFamily2021 code already activated to select individual seats and purchase your tickets. When you are in the system, be sure to select all the seats at once before clicking “add to cart.” Current Dartmouth students have free entry to the game by showing their Dartmouth ID. Your purchased tickets will be emailed to you in the form of an e-ticket.

Campus Maps

Find your way around Dartmouth’s 269-acre main campus and beyond.

Please help us keep Dartmouth safe and open to in-person classes and activities by following careful pandemic protocols.  Remember that anyone visiting the Dartmouth campus must follow the visitor policy; and those who are vaccinated and not symptomatic, not in isolation, and not in quarantine will have some limited access to campus facilities.  Visitors must also follow the face covering policy, which requires masks indoors. Thank you for your cooperation. We look forward to seeing you at Fall Family Weekend.
